


The entry deadline for the 2012 qualifying competition season is 11:59 p.m., Sept. 1, 2011. The time zone of your primary residence/principle training center (juvenile, intermediate) or home club (novice, junior, senior) will determine the entry deadline of 11:59 p.m., Sept. 1, 2011.
FACILITIES:
The competition will be held at the Mentor Civic Arena located at 8600 Munson Road, Mentor, Ohio 44060. The facility is home to dual ice surfaces, both measuring 85’ x 200’ with slightly rounded corners. The venue has spectator seating for 1,200 and ample parking, dressing rooms and snack bar.
PRACTICE ICE:
Competitors are encouraged to pre-order ice time using the online form HERE. All ice time is on a first come, first served basis. The online pre-order form will be available through Aug. 31, 2011.
Practice ice will begin on Thursday, Sept 29 and Friday, Sept 30, 2011, and will be sold in 30 minute sessions. Practice Ice Contract must be postmarked by Sept. 1, 2011. Practice sessions are $18 per session. The schedule of all practice sessions will be determined after registration closes.
The Official Practice Ice Desk will be at the Registration Desk in the lobby. It will open one hour before the first practice ice session, Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, and will sell additional practice ice as available. If there is a line, then practice ice may be purchased for only one skater at a time. All practice ice fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Official Practice Ice
Official Practice Ice is a 30 minute practice ice session on the rink where the event will be held. Your music will be played. Only one official practice ice will be assigned for each event entered. All official ice for a given event will be scheduled on the same day. Official practice ice is non-transferable and non-refundable. Special requests for time or date will not be honored.
20-Minute Pre-Event Practice Ice
There will be a 20 minute event day practice ice session scheduled approximately one to three hours prior to each Qualifying Round, Championship Short Program and Championship Free Skate. The cost will be $15. If there are more than 20 skaters in a Championship Round, skaters will be assigned to a practice ice session based on their Qualifying Round flight. Due to scheduling time restraints, the majority of the Event Day Practice Sessions will not be scheduled on the IJS ice surface and music will not be played
Additional Practice Ice
Additional Practice Ice sessions may be purchased depending on availability of ice. Please do not request more than 2 additional sessions per day per event. Sessions will not be scheduled after the qualifying rounds except for those events that have no qualifying round. Qualifying round ice will be available at the competition. Additional sessions may be available on a first come first server basis at the competition. Additional sessions are not designated as freeskate or short, and may be used for either. Additional practice ice sessions are 30 minutes in length. Additional practice ice is non-refundable
The online practice ice system is estimated to be available on or about Sept. 15, 2011. You will receive an email notification once this is received you will be able to login and schedule your practice ice.
REGISTRATION:
The registration desk, located in the lobby of the Mentor Civic Arena, will be open at 5 p.m. the day prior to the first full day of practice or at least one hour prior to the first practice ice session and opening on competition days at 7:30 a.m. until 30 minutes after the last event of the competition each day.
ADMISSIONS:
You are encouraged to pre-order your tickets online HERE.
Admission will be charged for all events. General admission is $10.00 per day. All event tickets may be purchased for $35.00. Children under the age of 10 will be admitted free.
CREDENTIALS:
One chaperone and one coach credential will be issued to each competitor at no charge. All coaches are required to:
No chaperone or coaches' credentials will be issued unless their names are on the Entry Form. One additional coach credential and/or one additional chaperone credential may be purchased for an additional $35. Please note: Chaperones are NOT permitted in locker rooms per U.S. Figure Skating policy.
There will be a $50.00 charge for any lost or forgotten credentials. Your credential is required for entry into the facility at all times.
OFFICIAL NOTICES:
An Official Bulletin Board will be maintained near the registration desk. Posting of schedules and announcements shall constitute sufficient notice to competitors, coaches, chaperones and officials.
AWARDS:
Medals will be awarded for the first four places in each event and trophies awarded to the champions. Skaters receiving awards should appear dressed in their competition attire and skates for the award ceremonies. Check the bulletin board for the times of awards.

INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION AND PRACTICE ICE SCHEDULES:
Every effort will be made to mail or email a tentative schedule and practice time to competitors upon request approximately three weeks after the closing of the entries. SCHEDULES will be mailed ONLY to those who furnish a self-addressed, stamped, business size envelope and SCHEDULES will be emailed ONLY to those who furnish an email address. Again, the request for a schedule must be specifically made in writing to Terry Kollar tkollar@roadrunner.com.
VIDEOTAPING AND PHOTOGRAPHY POLICIES
EVC, an official U.S. Figure Skating sponsor, will provide professional videography services. Videotaping of the competition in any form is not permitted. Photographs are permitted for personal use only, but for the safety of the skaters, no flash photography is allowed. Any resale of photography is strictly prohibited. Thank you for your compliance with these policies.
TRANSPORTATION:
Mentor, Ohio, can be reached by Ohio Route 2, I-90 and I-271 when driving to the competition.
Hopkins International Airport is approximately 36 miles from Mentor and Akron/Canton Airport is 62 miles from Mentor. The airports are serviced by all major airlines.
